Purpose and Background
Current building codes require all buildings and structures to be designed and constructed to resist the applicable design wind loads. For the vast majority of the U.S., the design wind loads are determined in accordance with the applicable provisions of ASCE 7. This webinar is Part 2 of a 3 Part series addressing the significant changes in the wind load design procedures of the 2022 Edition of ASCE 7 Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures.

- Avoid making costly errors due to a lack of understanding of the appropriate adjustments applicable to the wind provisions of ASCE 7-22.
- Achieve a better understanding of how the wind speed maps have changed and how the changes will impact design.
- Explain the changes to the component and cladding loads for roofs with mean roof heights less than or equal to 60 feet.
- Examine comparisons that show the impact of many of the changes from previous editions.
Assessment of Learning Outcomes
