Purpose and Background
This webinar will present case histories and discuss topics relevant to the current state-of-practice and recent advancements in the earth retaining structures industry. Through case histories and project examples, participants will learn about recent advancements in deflection-based design and accommodation variable subsurface conditions for Major League Soccer Stadium Excavation Support. The session content it is focuses on earth retaining structures. The webinar will consist of a 2-hour session with four 20 to 25 minute presentations.
Benefits and Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Apply state-of-practice of several facets of earth retaining structures, including:
- Deflection-based design
- Accommodation variable subsurface conditions
- Cofferdam systems
- Assess excavation support systems and building monitoring data during construction, and potential mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Assessment of Learning Outcomes
Achievement of the learning outcomes will be assessed through a short post-test (true-false, multiple choice and fill in the blank questions).
Who Should Attend
The session content will focus on recent and innovative aspects of earth retaining structures and should interest structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, construction professionals and geologists.
Outline
- Choreographing Deconstruction of Existing Basement Structure and Construction of SOE system
- Deflection-Based Design for the Capitol Crossing Excavation Support System
- Multi-Purpose Cofferdam for Lake Manatee Dam Phase II Repairs
- Accommodation Variable Subsurface Conditions for Major League Soccer Stadium Excavation Support
How to Earn your CEUs/PDHs
To receive your certificate of completion, you will need to complete a short on-line post-test and receive a passing score of 70% or higher within 1 year of purchasing the course.
How do I convert CEUs to PDHs?
1.0 CEU = 10 PDHs [Example: 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH]
