Purpose and Background
This product is for the Livestream session for the 2024 ASCE Convention. You will access the Live session on ZoomforGov.
The mode of transportation (public, private, for-hire or shared) chosen by an individual may be limited due to their socioeconomic status and/or the availability of amenities and resources in their geographic area.
Often, marginalized communities are impacted by both. This presentation will explore how have projects, initiatives and changes to public policy fostered equity in transportation modalities.
Learning Outcomes and Session Benefits
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain how socioeconomic status and geographic factors influence an individual’s choice of transportation mode and access to resources.
- Discuss the role of projects, initiatives, and public policy changes in promoting equity within transportation systems for marginalized communities.
Assessment of Learning Outcomes
Learning outcomes are assessed and achieved through passing a 10 multiple choice question post-test with at least a 70%.
