Purpose and Background
Preparation for success in construction project management goes beyond possessing the necessary degrees and qualifications. It also involves understanding the unique aspects of each project and strategically tailoring project management and leadership approaches to align with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
This seminar begins by exploring the responsibilities and core competencies of construction project managers, emphasizing the fundamental ethical principles that should guide their professional practice. It then introduces three comprehensive checklists designed to assist individuals in preparing for project management roles in construction projects. Project managers are encouraged to initiate their preparation with a General Checklist. It includes developing a Project Management Philosophy Statement and creating a project-specific Leadership Profile. The other two checklists are focused on preparing project managers for effective performance in two essential areas: 1) dispute prevention and resolution and 2) decision-making and problem solving. The seminar also discusses various effective practices and real-world case studies, empowering participants to elevate their performance as construction project managers. This seminar duration is 8 hours.
