Purpose and Background
This course will only award PDHs for completion.
This presentation explores innovative solutions addressing the affordable housing crisis. Speakers will delve into industrialized construction, modular housing systems, and the intersection of climate resilience and housing affordability. They will discuss how prefab units and modular systems can significantly reduce construction time and costs, highlighting volumetric and panelized modular construction approaches. Strategies for designing environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient buildings will be covered. Real-world case studies will illustrate the successful implementation of modular housing. The speakers will explain the practical challenges and solutions in deploying modular housing across various climates and seismic zones. Solar-powered housing projects will be introduced as a key component of sustainable development. The presentation will conclude by demonstrating how modular housing can meet urgent needs, such as disaster relief and recovery.
