Purpose and Background

The main objective of this course is to introduce the young professionals to the nature of port facilities, type of infrastructure required to efficiently operate a port complex, and to develop an understanding of the construction practices within a port environment. The course will explore the major construction elements and the proper management techniques to deliver construction projects from initial planning stage through construction closeout and maintenance. The knowledge gained from this course will enhance the practitioners' credentials in managing the process of capital improvements projects for the ports and harbors practices.
