Purpose and Background
This presentation introduces the audience to the recently published ASCE Manual of Practice 156. It provides an overview of the contents of the manual:
- Navigation channel sedimentation issues
- Strategies and solutions to sedimentation problems in channels
- Available prediction methods
- Best practices for predicting navigation channel sedimentation responses.
A case study from the manual that illustrates sedimentation problems and approaches to identify solutions will also be discussed.
