Instructor: Michael J. Byle, P.E., BC.GE., F.ASCE
Course Length: 90 Minutes
Purpose and Background
Low mobility grouting is defined as material that is injected as a fluid, but does not permeate or travel far from the point of injection. This method is used to compact low density soil (Compaction Grouting), fill voids, seal openings, and to create structural shapes (Grout Piles). Applications are many including, liquefaction mitigation, controlling structure settlement, lifting slabs, mitigating karst subsidence, pillar grouting to support mines, slope reinforcement, structural support, and more. This webinar will provide an introduction to low mobility grouting (LMG) and its applications.
This presentation will include an introduction to LMG and the critical factors associated with its application. It will include an overview of materials and equipment for grout injections and considerations for applying the method. Behavior of the grout in the subsurface will be discussed to provide understanding of the various factors affecting the control and effectiveness low mobility grouting. Examples of some applications will also be presented.
Primary Discussion Topics
- Terminology of Grouting
- Low Mobility Grouting methodology
- LMG materials
- LMG equipment

How to Earn your CEUs/PDHs and Receive Your Certificate of Completion
To receive your certificate of completion, you will need to complete a short on-line post-test and receive a passing score of 70% or higher within 1 year of purchasing the course.
How do I convert CEUs to PDHs?
1.0 CEU = 10 PDHs [Example: 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH]
