Course Length: 90 minutes
Purpose and Background
Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is rapidly moving toward becoming a preferred delivery method nowadays. This webinar presents and discusses IPD method and many benefits of utilizing Lean and advanced BIM tools for a successful project delivery.
For some, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is still more of a goal rather than a reality at this time. For others, it is becoming a norm and rather a necessity, fairly rapidly. To be successful in an IPD project, team members and their organizations are required to go through a transformation of changing culture from traditional and fragmented work environment that had been established for decades towards a new integrated environment that requires lean practice and extensive use of Building Information Modeling (BIM). This webinar provides an introduction to basics of IPD, lean and BIM followed by detail discussions about their key features and components. Some of the effective methods and practical tools of Lean and BIM will be presented, which, when combined together, can make an IPD project more successful. The primary goals of this webinar are to familiarize construction and engineering community including owners, planners, architects, engineers, and contractors with some of the latest effective and practical tools to allow them work more efficiently, share data openly but with proper liability considerations, minimize waste, and use advanced communication tools.
Primary Discussion Topics
- Basics of IPD, lean, and BIM
- IPD contract forms and templates
- How to transform from traditional way to IPD way
- What is waste and how to eliminate waste by thinking and acting lean
- 3D BIM modeling
- 3D shop drawing and review process for structural engineers
- How to effectively incorporate Lean and BIM tools into an IPD project
- Clash detection using Navisworks
Learning Outcomes

How to Earn your CEUs/PDHs and Receive Your Certificate of Completion
To receive your certificate of completion, you will need to complete a short on-line post-test and receive a passing score of 70% or higher within 1 year of purchasing the course.
How do I convert CEUs to PDHs?
1.0 CEU = 10 PDHs [Example: 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH]
