Instructor Information: Jamie Gorman, MBA
Course Length: 1 Hour
Purpose and Background
“So, what do you do?” is a common question in social and business settings. Unfortunately, many engineers and other related professionals are not adequately prepared to take advantage of the opportunity that opens with this simple question. Often, the manner in which you respond is the difference between a conversation that starts a relationship and a quick, meaningless exchange.
By crafting your message and matching that message to the audience, participants will learn how to communicate their value in any networking setting. The result will be a focused statement that presents your value to that audience. Although the "elevator" pitch has become cliché and is ineffectively used by many professionals, it is still a great skill for any business professional to master. When done correctly it communicates what you are about and more importantly the value you can deliver to your audience.
Learning Outcomes/Benefits
