System Requirements for Viewing this Course
Sponsored by ASCE Continuing Education and the Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI).
This seminar was useful and the preparation was commendable. I learned much about other sustainability and stormwater standards and organizations.
INSTRUCTOR: Jennifer J. Walker, P.E., D.WRE, ENV SP, CFM, QSD, M.ASCE
Purpose and Background
Are you looking for cost-effective and efficient techniques to achieve points for LEED projects? The sustainable sites and water efficiency points can be implemented on most projects and result in an overall decrease in construction and operation and maintenance costs. This seminar increases your understanding and ability to earn LEED points with water-related civil design features and enhances your marketability for LEED projects.
This webinar focuses on sustainable sites stormwater design and water efficiency points for the current version of LEED and LEED v4. Participants learn to compute peak flows and runoff volumes for stormwater design quantity control points as well as to earn other stormwater and water-related LEED points. The Sustainable Sites InitiativeTM and points related to sustainable materials and innovations for stormwater/water management are also addressed.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will enhance their skills in implementing and earning civil/site-related points for USGBC LEED certification of green buildings.
Webinar Benefits
- Gain exposure to easy-to-implement methods to obtain sustainable sites and water efficiency points for LEED projects
- Learn to calculate peak flows and runoff volumes for stormwater design quantity control points
- Expand knowledge of site-related stormwater management; water efficiency; sustainable, local, and recycled materials; and innovation points for United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED certification of green buildings
- Discover how to earn stormwater and water-related LEED points
- Gain exposure to leading-edge green infrastructure used for LEED projects
Intended Audience
Professionals seeking to increase understanding and ability to earn LEED points with water-related civil design features or to enhance your marketability for LEED projects, including: Consulting engineers, public agency engineers and reviewers,USACE Engineers and other personnel, architects, landscape architects, environmental scientists, and sustainability coordinators and Engineers in Training (EITs) will benefit from this webinar.
