Purpose and Background
Very often, engineers find themselves involved in disputes that require Arbitration hearings or Mediation proceedings; are you prepared?
This course is designed to provide all parties involved in engineering and construction with a thorough understanding of how to deal with arbitration and mediation. Many construction and engineering contracts require arbitration and mediation for handling disputes that inevitably arise. Arbitration and mediation is also required by most courts.
This course will be presented in an informal, interactive style using examples from real life. Attendees will learn how mediation and arbitration work, i.e., rules, procedures, etiquette, etc. You will learn how to prepare and present your case, and how to properly document the job. Through role-playing in mediation exercises and mock arbitrations based on actual cases, participants will gain practical, hands-on advice and guidance. This workshop provides valuable, timely and immediately useful skills for engineers.
